Infrastructure and security
Infrastructure you can see, secure and recover
Monitoring, patching, access control, backups and security oversight for the servers, cloud services and networks your business depends on.
For companies whose systems run without a clear owner, and who want risk measured and reduced rather than discovered during an incident.
- Visibility
- Monitoring and alerts on every covered system
- Recovery
- Backups verified by test restores
- Reporting
- Monthly status in plain language
- Servers and cloud instances Monitored
- Operating system patches Current
- Backups Restore tested
- Admin accounts MFA enforced
- TLS certificates Renewal in 21 days
- Firewall rules Reviewed quarterly
Monitored
Every covered system reports its status.
Patched
Updates applied on a schedule.
Recoverable
Backups tested by restoring them.
The business problem
Most infrastructure risk is invisible until something fails.
Servers keep running, so nobody looks at them. Updates wait, administrator passwords are shared, backups report success without ever being restored, and a certificate expires on a Friday evening. None of it is urgent until all of it is.
- Nobody can list every server, cloud account and who has administrator access
- Updates are applied when someone remembers, not on a schedule
- Backups exist but have never been restored as a test
- Former employees or vendors still hold credentials
- Outages are reported by customers before they are detected internally
- Security questions from clients or insurers cannot be answered with evidence
Outcomes
What managed infrastructure should change.
- 01
A known environment
An inventory of systems, accounts and dependencies that stays current.
- 02
Problems found first
Monitoring and alerts that surface issues before users report them.
- 03
Reduced exposure
Patching, access control and configuration reviewed on a schedule.
- 04
Proven recovery
Backups and restore procedures tested, with recovery times you can state.
Coverage
What the service covers.
Scope is agreed per environment. Most engagements cover all three areas.
Operations
- Server and cloud monitoring
- Uptime and performance alerts
- Operating system patching
- Certificate and domain renewals
- Capacity reviews
Security
- Access and privilege reviews
- Multi-factor authentication
- Firewall and network rules
- Endpoint protection oversight
- Security configuration baselines
Continuity
- Backup configuration
- Scheduled restore tests
- Recovery runbooks
- Incident response
- Documentation of the environment
Fit
Who this service is for.
A good fit when
- Business systems run on servers or cloud services without a dedicated owner.
- Clients, auditors or insurers ask security questions that are hard to answer.
- An internal IT person needs support on infrastructure and security.
- A recent incident exposed gaps in monitoring or backups.
Probably not the right fit when
- The need is day-to-day user support. That is managed IT and help desk.
- A formal certification audit is required from an accredited body.
- Nobody can grant access to the systems that need to be covered.
Onboarding
How the service starts.
Coverage begins with an assessment, so the plan is based on what exists rather than on assumptions.
- 01
Assessment
Inventory of systems, accounts, backups and current risks.
- 02
Baseline
Monitoring, patching and access controls brought to an agreed standard.
- 03
Documentation
Runbooks and a map of the environment written and shared.
- 04
Operation
Ongoing monitoring, maintenance and monthly reporting.
Backup and recovery
A backup only counts once it has been restored.
Backup software reports success when it copies data. It does not report whether that data can be used to bring a system back. Restore tests are scheduled as part of the service, and the results are included in reporting.
Recovery targets agreed
For each critical system, how much data can be lost and how long it can be down, written down in advance.
Runbooks ready
Step-by-step recovery procedures that do not depend on one person remembering them.
- File server Restored in 18 min
- Accounting database Restored in 42 min
- Website and CMS Restored in 12 min
- Email archive Restored in 25 min
Engagement models
How the work is contracted.
Assessment
A one-time review of infrastructure and security with a prioritized plan.
- Written findings
- Risk ranking
- Best as a starting point
Managed monthly
Ongoing monitoring, maintenance and security oversight.
- Agreed coverage and response targets
- Monthly reporting
- Best for systems in production
Co-managed
Support for an internal IT person or team.
- Shared responsibilities in writing
- Escalation and specialist help
- Best when IT exists internally

FAQ
Questions about infrastructure and security.
Answers are written for this service. Where a figure depends on your situation, we say so instead of publishing an average.
What does the service cost?
Cost depends on the number of servers, cloud accounts and locations covered, the response targets required and whether an internal team shares the work. A written proposal follows the initial assessment.
Do you work with our existing cloud provider?
Yes. ZitDevs works with the environments you already use, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and on-premises servers.
Can you respond to a security incident?
Yes. Incident response is part of the managed service, with contact channels and response targets agreed in writing. For an active incident outside an agreement, contact ZitDevs directly.
Will this make us compliant with a standard?
The service improves the controls most standards ask for and produces evidence of them. Formal certification requires an accredited auditor, which ZitDevs does not replace.
Can you work alongside our IT staff?
Yes. Co-managed arrangements define in writing which tasks belong to your team and which to ZitDevs.
Who keeps the credentials and documentation?
Your organization. Credentials are stored in systems you control, and documentation is delivered as part of the service.
Find out what your infrastructure actually looks like.
Describe your systems and what worries you about them. ZitDevs will propose an assessment and a coverage plan.
